ultra-sleek for bach

If you don't already know who Zaha Hadid is, it's time to get acquainted. This Iraqi-born, British-based postmodern architect is the first woman to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize (equivalent to the Nobel Prize). Most fashionably recognized for the Mobile Art Pavilion for Chanel that pays tribute to the iconic 2.55 bag, she has recently collaborated with Manchester International Festival and Manchester Art Gallery to design a "near-perfect visual and sonic environment" concert hall for the 2009 Festival. With a capacity of 200 people, the intimate and sexy chamber is set to host nine concerts, in which three internationally acclaimed musicians will perform Bach's solo instrumental works. Hadid is one superwoman!
