anya's gym class

First, she promoted sustainability with 'I'm Not a Plastic Bag' that caused a worldwide frenzy. These days, Anya Hindmarch is advocating healthy (and fashionable) living to her London staff with Pilates classes as a life-balancing perk - Anya's Gym Class. The weekly gym sessions at her Meatpacking District studio also features nutritional advice and is also offered to industry insiders. I'm loving that racerback tank!

sofia coppola for lv

Sofia Coppola, the genius behind Marie Antoinette, The Virgin Suicides and Lost In Translation, has collaborated with luxury powerhouse Louis Vuitton for a capsule collection which includes dreamy day bags, discreet clutches and retro wedge sandals. The SC bag, dubbed as her perfect day bag is the highlight of her collection, which comes in 3 variations: suede, calf leather and LV's signature monogram canvas. Sofia Coppola certainly upped the ante as jane-of-all-trades with this collaboration, giving me yet another reason to love her even more (and her bags, of course!)

pride and glory

To match or to clash? Not my usual query when choosing what to wear but these days I'm feeling a little rebellious. These beautiful clashing patterns for Pride and Glory editorial shot by Jean-Francois Campos for V Magazine Spring 09 has an amazing cast: Catherine McNeil, Heidi Mount, Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman, Carmen Kass, Jessica Stam, Suvi Koponen and Hanne Gaby Odiele.

celebstyle: alexa chung

WHO: Alexa Chung, British TV presenter and Arctic Monkey squeeze
WHERE: Louis Vuitton show, Paris Fashion Week
WHAT: A long navy double-breasted blazer, handbag and 'Spicy' heels, all by Louis Vuitton

Understated yet eye-catching with the shoe of the season,"DJing for Lagerfeld is, in fashion terms, like being asked to entertain God", quoted Chung. Surprised to know she could DJ? Read her post-Paris article.

tribal exotica

Lakshmi Menon in Dazed & Confused April 09 issue, looks like a powerful queen of what could be the most fashionable tribe in the world. This beautiful shot by Josh Olins and styled by Nicola Formichetti, is another inspiration for love and lust. From clockwise: Atelier Swarovski for Christopher Kane Black Collection brooches --- so unique, and it's black, a statement when paired with a white blazer; Balmain crystal studded shoes that are super gorgeous; Christian Lacroix feathered bag --- am into feathers at the moment, and absolutely love the detailing; Atelier Swarovski by Devi Korell baguette cuff -- snakeskin jewels; and Marc Jacobs' exotic clutch - funky!

dressed to kilt

Scottish designers, those with Scottish ancestry - and self-confessed tartan-philes with no real connection to Scotland - will gather to celebrate the strength and diversity of Scottish fashion for a New York event, Dressed To Kilt, on March 30. Hosted by Sir Sean and Lady Connery, young Scottish talents like Jamie-Bruski-Tetsill, Olanic and Bebaroque, will line up alongside established Scottish names such as Graeme Black and Hawick Cashmere -- as well as designers famed for their work with Scottish themes or tartan; like Vivienne Westwood and Henry Holland. Grandpa would be proud if he hears about this, not so much about fashion, but of his Scottish roots and kilts.

beautiful parisian

After Carine Roitfeld's interview/documentary for CNN, it's time for her art director daughter, Julia Restoin Roitfeld to shine in Harpers Baazar UK editorial shot by Paola Kudacki. A stunning beauty, she is definitely keeping fashion in the family.

collective fashion consciousness

The Sartorialist has made its mark in the blogosphere as one of TIME Magazine's top 100 design influencers, so it comes to no surprise that Scott Schumann's work has inspired Yuri Lee to give her own twist in documenting street fashion. Yuri is the founder of Lookbook.nu, an Internet collective of street style images with almost 100,000 looks and 1 million global viewers. Just how does it work? Aspiring fashionistas can showcase their street fashion best by uploading their own snapshots and add details of their outfit which then goes around "hype" and "karma".

Totally addictive and often inspiring, Lookbook takes you to the streets, "where real fashion comes to life"

the fringe factor

Ever since Kanye's shutter shades took centre stage, the craze for sunglasses peaked to another level and designers (and celebrities) are following suit --- Calvin Harris sported bubble wrap shades, while Beyonce looks like a super future hero on the set of "Diva". The design duo of Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag of Berlin-based design agency, BLESS has introduced this golden beauty, the Duo Fringe, which made its premiere during their Spring/Summer runway show. They are now available at colette

coco before chanel

The highly anticipated Coco avant Chanel trailer, is finally released.  Starring Audrey Tautou as the designer, it is a biopic of Gabrielle Chanel's early years and judging from the trailer, she looks perfect for the role! A must-see film, it premiers April 22 in France. A teaser of the new Chanel No.5 commercial, also featuring Tautou, will debut around the same time. Watch the trailer here.

punk glamor princess

Nicole Richie for the Music issue of BlackBook magazine is definitely a looker. Dedicated to Stephen Sprouse, the punk glamor god (LOVE the Sprouse  x LV collection!), could this look be her alter-ego? Fierce, I say! If you're a fan of Nicole, check out her new official website.

barneys trash

You heard that right. Barneys trash is now worth $995 in this 5.5 inches Christian Louboutin Trash shoes. It's a fine idea, making one-of-a-kind shoe using found objects like stamps and such tucked into a PVC lining. Very green. These peep toe pumps, complete with leather double platforms, elastic sling back and the signature red leather soles are exclusively sold at Barneys New York.

young sexy lovely

Lusting over these... YSL's super lovely platform heels from the FW09 collection that is just to-die-for and and perfect in every way, and the gathered large Easy... it looks less boxy and softer than the original, absolutely timeless!

Love...the SS09 ad campaign featuring Claudia Schiffer, the new face of YSL against the Y of the Hollywood sign in LA (very symbolic!), and the Y-mail dog tag necklace adds a little fun to any outfit.

Right now I just need to rock a logo T like Kanye did at the Grammys. Oh, let's not forget the patent Muse ;)

dirty pretty things

The Upper East Side sorority is full of drama but with a knockout cast that is all the rage (and more riveting than 90210), you cannot help but watch it, religiously. Pair these Gossip Girl beauties with a revolutionary photographer like Terry Richardson, whose raw point-and-shoot style I really admire, you're in for a treat with a saucy spread, as featured in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. He's keeping it real and you know you love him!

the last emperor

The legendary Italian couturier who has dressed some of the world's most glamorous women shines in his own autobiopic directed by Matt Trynauer. Valentino: The Last Emperor follows the life and times of the legendary fashion designer, and his unique relationship with business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti. The film had its New York premiere on March 18 with Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow among the star-studded audience.

balmania

Christophe Decarnin proved that he is the man of the season when he unveiled a repeat performance for fall that left the audience weak at their knees. Stonewashed ripped jeans, strong peaked shoulders, and rhinestone everything, Decarnin's trashy luxe collection for Balmain made him the No.1 most copied designer in the span of two seasons, with $1500 jeans flying off the shelves even in these times! What's not to love besides the price tag?

Very sexy, very rock, very glam... it's murder on the dancefloor.

the sartorialist

Word is out that Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist fame, has landed a book deal with Penguin Books to publish a book entitled none other than, The Sartorialist, a collection of his highly lauded photographs on fashion off the street.  Bets are high that this gorgeous coffee table book will be sold in seconds as colette is set to feature a pop-up exhibition for its release.

the double c's

Karl Lagerfeld's eccentrics never fail to amaze me. Remember the edgy pistol heels. His obsession for the iPod is highly visible in this quirky perspex briefcase he designed for Chanel FW09 which debuted at Paris Fashion Week recently.

welcome to heartbreak

Never had the urge to blog until now. What makes my heart flutter, and what makes me weak. The constant yearning for all things beautiful has come to this, a memoir of lust at first sight, and love after lust.
