Irina Shaposhnikova, fresh out of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, presented her graduation collection, 'Crystallographica'. Lady Gaga would be so proud.
She probably should be respected for being one of those artistes who support cutting edge design, altho I'd prefer the sight of singer Roisin Murphy in Gareth Pugh. Lady Gaga scares me a lil.
And Antwerp never fails to produce outstanding designers, do they? Together with the Scandinavians, they're a breath of fresh air from the rather ornate, staid stuff from the old school of fashion.
chris, yup was certainly referring to lady gaga's style. i have to agree with you that roisin murphy wears it so naturally. she even stated that thanks to lady gaga and beyonce for making avant-garde pieces commercial, she's revamping her look. cause it's overdone. as for antwerp, they're excellent.
maybe because i avoid celeb goss and news, i am not aware of seeing beyonce in anything avant garde?
but i guess when something crosses over from arts to mainstream, it's a sign that you've made it? have been seeing some gareth pugh copycats of late too ;)
were you refering to Lady Gaga wearing something like this?
