knock your socks off

This would be my ideal little black number for fall. The knits and gloves. The bling. The sky-high boots. Strong shoulders and layered chains. Perfecto. More streetstyle inspirations here, thanks to photog Daniel Troyse and fashion editor, Caroline Blomst.

california dream

Vogue and Rachel Bilson threw a soiree to celebrate the first anniversary of Phillip Lim's L.A. store. The petite host and celebrity guests Shenae Grimes, Molly Sims, Maggie Q, Leona Lewis, Kristen Bell, and Eve were gussied up in his collection, 3.1 Phillip Lim. Guests were treated to a performance by English rock band, The Duke Spirit (frontwoman Liela Moss, who donned a blinding gold sequin top that evening, is one of the designer's muses). There's always an air of nonchalance to Lim's designs which I love and I'm really feeling Molly's diamond cut dress and Shenae's polka dot-drap skirt combo.

streetstyle: studded romantic

London: Who says florals are for grannys? This pretty young thing proves it otherwise with a simple yet rocking ensemble - a floral jacket paired with shorts, a studded belt and chunky platforms. It certainly helps that she's a natural beauty, but the entire look is totally effortless and simply perfect you'd give it a shot yourself.

opening soon

Luxury French malletier, Goyard branches out to London this summer with their first European flagship store after the original store on rue St Honore, Paris. The facade of the store is currently wrapped in a giant Goyard trunk. Loves it! Wait 'til I get my hands on my very first Saint Louise or Croisiere and I'll love it even more.

hauntingly beautiful

That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these. And love struck me hard. Replacing Toni Garn for Fendi's Fall/Winter 2009 ad campaign, Jessica Stam is the epitome of dramatic beauty (she could kill with those eyes) in the label's luxurious fur coats and to-die-for shoes. As if that was not enough, Lagerfeld is the man behind the lens who encapsulated that very air of mystique we are always so enthralled with.

paper cranes

Stunning paper dresses by Alexandra Zaharova and Ilya Plotnikov for July/August '09 issue of L'officiel

the glossy, glossy

Many months ago, we heard about this book deal with Penguin Books. Word is out, that The Sartorialist coffee table book, with over 500 pages of Scott Schuman's highly lauded street-fashion photos, will be available in the U.S. starting August 12th and worldwide by early September. The paperback version is retailing for $25 and $175 for the hardcover.

nighttime drama

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late. Work is keeping me busy and it never ends. On the flipside, I managed to catch up with my girlfriends, hosted a party at the store, did a photoshoot, and rubbed shoulders with the English football champions. Awesome week! But this right here is a serious case of shoe envy as Angela Lindvall rocks it hard and glamorous for Jimmy Choo's Fall/Winter 2009 ad campaign shot by Terry Richardson. Exotic skins, studs, lace, mesh, or patent, the latest collection has it all covered.

a twist on the mix

Imagine my despair when I stumbled upon a beautiful vintage Moschino necklace during my buying trip only to find out it was not for sale. Just my luck. It's very refreshing though (apart from a DIY studded surgical mask that I spotted), to return and discover the conceptual and creative genius of Miuccia Prada and architectural collaborator Rem Koolhaas in the label's inspiring Fall 2009 lookbook. Doodles, collages and head substitutes were rendered on runway photos riveting enough to make you fall in love.

the september issue

We now know Anna got her power bob thanks to Malaysian-born Londoner Charlie Chan of Michaeljohn Salon. I sported this hairstyle once, back when I was 5 and remembered being quite a character. Don't know if I would ever have this haircut again, possibly when I turn 50 but what I do know is that I'm really looking forward to the real-life version of The Devil Wears Prada. Set to release on September 11, The September Issue is a documentary film directed by R.J. Cutler about the legendary Vogue editrix and her team of editors creating the September 2007 issue, the single largest issue of a magazine ever published.

Snejana Onopka stars as Anna Wintour in this amazing L'Icone editorial shot by Mario Testino for Vogue Paris August 2007.
