spare a coin?

Chanel recently launched a temporary iPhone application designed as an iconic slot machine to showcase their latest gift ideas. You need more than a dime to get your hands on these lovely interlocking C's though.

take a bow

Having worked for Hermès, Parisian designer Baptiste Viry started his own women's ready-to-wear collection. Love his reformed take on bow ties, belts and hats for his first ever accessories collection. Part military, part preppy.

amazing grace

Breathtaking. The dresses, lighting, composition and the woman herself.

fearless

How fierce is she in this getup?

sleepwalking

The finale at Rodarte had the lights dimmed and models sashaying the catwalk in glowing shoes. Magic!

a moment, a love, a dream, aloud

500 Days of Summer. An honest story about love that takes a piece out of you. If you haven't seen it yet, you should. The soundtrack rocks, by the way. Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Too cute. Enough said.

eye-grabbing

Proenza Schouler Fall 2010. Bright colors, graffiti prints, sexy schoolgirl sheers and stacked platforms. Loveeeeeee!

kate the great

"As I get older, it gets better," she says.

With age comes wisdom. Used well, life gets an upgrade. Kate is still reveling her fruits of labor with the success of her multi-million pound line for Topshop (launched in spring of 2007) and after several seasons working as the 'face' of Longchamp, she finally launched her first range of handbags for the luxury label. But the icing on the cake has to be this: she got a fiance for her 36th birthday. Sweet!

hold on to your 3d shades

Kind of dizzying to look at minus the 3D glasses, but I bet with a pair, you'll have a whole new perspective on bunny ears from this Baldovino Barani's editorial. I'm itching to see that massive (Margiela?) fuschia wig coat in all its 3D glory. Trippy!

skeletal love

Always hitting the right notes in the fashion department, Alexa Chung is simply gorgeous (and I still fancy that Iosselliani skull necklace that she wears so religiously). If you love her laid back style: short shorts, long-sleeved shirts and tea dresses, you'll be delighted to check out her collaboration with Madewell.

farewell to the master of macabre

Arguably one of the most exciting and talented designer of our time, always unconventional and controversial, with dramatic and sculptural aesthetics (thanks to his impeccable, bespoke Savile Row tailoring) that never fails to shock and awe. Plato's Atlantis, Spring 2005's human chess game, Kate Moss hologram and the live robotic paint-sprayed dress for Givenchy, were among the many creative genius of a personal favorite, the late Alexander McQueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be. RIP

Below is a heartfelt excerpt of an interview between Alexander McQueen and his mother, Joyce McQueen (who passed just days before his death), that appeared in The Guardian a few years ago. Read the whole interview here

AM: What is your most terrifying fear?
AM: Dying before you.
JM: Thank you, son. What makes you proud?
AM: You.
JM: Why?
AM: No, no, ask the next one: "What makes you furious?" You! [laughs]
JM: No, go on, what makes you proud?
AM: When things go right, when the collection goes right, when everyone else in the company's proud.
JM: What makes you furious?
AM: Bigotry.
JM: What makes your heart miss a beat?
AM: Love.
JM: Love for children? Love for adults? Love for animals?
AM: Falling in love.

Love, indeed, makes the world go round.

hype means nothing

Parisian label Hype Means Nothing has released a playful collection of t-shirts and sweaters featuring some of the world's famous and infamous personalities: Barack Obama, Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe, David Beckham, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, even Spongebob depicting their favorite shades. The label recently introduced an all-over printed bag and MacBook sleeve into the mix.

I can't decide: Beyonce or Pharrell?

Available for men and women, the t-shirt retails for RM289 ($85) at H5. Also available at colette.

the pursuit of happiness

" You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi

Call it a pursuit for inner growth, soul-searching, self-discovery. I've spent many nights (and some afternoons) in the past month reflecting and re-evaluating my personal life. Took some time to count my blessings, made peace with the past, and now have a refreshing perspective on life. At the end of the day, life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself. Your best self.

And if I feel like going to the beach in a bikini and a leather jacket will make me happy, as silly as it sounds, so be it.
