untitled
The mysterious designer may have left his fashion house in December after some 20 years creating influential avant-garde designs but Martin Margiela was very much involved with the creation of the label's first perfume, Untitled. The fragrance, a unisex scent with a strong presence of galbanum, and notes of bitter orange, incense, jasmine and cedar, is to be interpreted by the wearer as he or she feels fit. The bottle when empty, can be used as "a dress, a lamp or anything that departs from its initial use", according to MMM.
Available at Colette on January 15 and US Maison Martin Margiela boutiques in March.

empire state of mind
Mr Shawn Carter gave a piece of his (empire state) mind in the latest Interview magazine. The wax lyrical. The game. The change. The influence. And his thoughts on Kanye.
"Successful people have a bigger fear of failure than people who've never done anything because if you haven't been successful, then you don't know how it feels to lose it all. You don't have that fear. So why do you think people get stuck in those boxes? It's that fear of going back down."
“Rap for me is like movies, telling stories, and getting the emotions of the songs through in just as deep a way."

hey there, handsome
These bathing suits by We Are Handsome are too gorgeous for the pool so make its worth and wear them all year round with high-waisted shorts, jeans, skirts, leggings, whatever tickles your fancy. We Are Handsome is a collaborative effort between Aussie designers Indhra Chagoury (Oscar & Elvis) and Jeremy Somers (People Like Us). All designs are named after a location (Arabia, Miami, Africa, Hollywood, you catch my drift). Retails at $163. What's your pick? I'm liking the stallion quite a bit.

come to mama
My heart skips a beat everytime I see a YSL Arty ring. Wanted to get one for myself as a birthday present last November but they sold out so fast I didn't even get a chance to say "welcome to heartbreak". Moving forward, these babies are due to arrive sometime next month. Deciding on a color would be a toughie. I'd want them all.

the eyes have it
Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquiere personally hand-picked this natural-born athlete to walk in his Spring 2006 runway show so you know she's got it. Since then she's cruised the catwalks of Marc Jacobs and Chanel, fronted campaigns for Estee Lauder and Gap, even named one of the top supermodels of 2007 by Vogue. Only 22, this stunning chameleon's got game.
