the golden lotus
To mark the release of Chanel's Pre-Fall 2010 collection, Karl Lagerfeld showcased a self-directed short film, "Paris-Shanghai: A Fantasy", starring his inner-circle favorites Amanda Harlech, Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi. The Kaiser then delivered his pre-fall collection (inspired by his China) against the visually thrilling urban nightscape of Shanghai, where a thousand guests sat on a darkened pontoon moored in the Huangpu River. As always, the results are ravishing. I'm especially fond of the printed kimono dress and that camelia leather pants!
