sporty and spice

First look at "Urban Motility", the collaboration between Puma and Hussein Chalayan, due to hit the stores next February for Spring 2010. Screaming high fashion athletics and supreme functionality, you can expect outerwear pieces that doubles as a dress and pants with removable pockets to speed up "security control at the airport". Not as extreme as Chalayan's morphing outfits or dresses that disappears into a headgear, but sleek enough to make you look like you could run double the normal speed.

the skinny on chalayan

Cerebral UK designer Hussein Chalayan, who recently admitted his disaffection with models-turned-designers, has teamed up with premium denim label J Brand for a capsule collection resulting in three quintessential styles - the Beau, straight-leg boyfriend jean ($247), the Circuit ($257), a circular cut cropped jean and the Legging ($249), super-skinny denim legging (pictured above). These solid black lightweight denim was launched at Barneys New York on August 4. None of that Transformers-style that he blew us away with in 2007 (watch the video), although I would love for the straight leg jeans to mechanically transform into shorts without having to cut them!
